Position: Town Planner

Salary: £25,000 - £40,000 negotiable depending upon experience

Full Time Working Hours: 09:00-17:30 Monday to Friday

Ideally, we are looking for a full-time professional but would consider part-time for an exceptional candidate.

Holiday: 25 days + bank holidays

Main place of work: Rayleigh SS6 9QG

Ideal Candidate

  • Have previous planning experience gained in either a planning consultancy or the public sector
  • MRTPI or RTPI accredited qualification
  • Have an interest in rural planning
  • Be an imaginative problem solver
  • Have a strong ability to communicate articulately and accurately in person and in writing
  • Be dynamic and ambitious and keen to take on responsibility

Job Role

  • Deliver expert planning advice to a wide range of clients on varied sites
  • Preparation of planning applications, appeals and site appraisals
  • Provide effective project management of external consultant teams whilst fulfilling client needs
  • Creative problem solving of client planning issues
  • Monitoring and preparation of local plan representations
  • Manage own workload effectively but reporting as part of a team
