Rural Planning Professional

Remuneration:

£25,000 – £40,000.  Negotiable depending upon experience.  Plus performance related bonus and pension contribution.

Full Time Working Hours:

0900 – 1730 Monday to Friday*

* Ideally, we are looking for a full time professional but would consider part time for an exceptional candidate.

Holiday:

25 days + bank holidays

Recent projects have included:

  • Conversion of existing rural buildings to a variety of uses including – 90-place day nursery, wine processing plant, residential dwellings, farm shop retail, café, tourism holiday lets, wedding venue, office and commercial lettings
  • Change of use of land to glamping, fisheries, dog walking fields
  • Agricultural development including grain storage, cattle handling facilities, horticultural glasshouses
  • Equestrian development comprising stables, indoor and outdoor arena and gallops
  • Commercial buildings on allocated rural business sites
  • Agricultural workers accommodation
  • Enforcement
  • Certificate of lawfulness applications
  • Development outside of the settlement boundary

Ideal Candidate

  • Has 2+ years previous planning experience in private practice or the public sector
  • RICS or RTPI accredited qualification
  • Has an interest in the countryside and rural planning
  • Is an imaginative problem solver
  • Has a strong ability to communicate articulately and accurately in person and in writing
  • Is dynamic, ambitious and keen to take on responsibility

 Job Role

  • Deliver expert planning advice to a wide range of clients on varied sites and projects
  • Preparation of planning applications, appeals and site appraisals
  • Provide effective project management of external consultant teams whilst fulfilling clients’ needs
  • Creative problem solving of clients’ planning issues
  • Monitoring and preparation of local plan representations
  • Manage own workload effectively but reporting as part of a team
